Lamaze Plus
Lamaze Plus is a prepared childbirth class which includes
infant care and breastfeeding tips as part of the curriculum.
Lamaze prepared childbirth class includes a historical background about Lamaze theory and practice. It also contains background on Grantly-Dick Read, Pavlov, psychoprophylaxis, and other pain management skills.
Dolly Earl presents an eclectic approach to childbirth education including what she has learned in 29 years as a labor and delivery nurse. Some of the objectives of the class are:
- Develop a group atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Identify founders of prepared childbirth theory.
- State the Dick-Read theory of Natural Childbirth.
- Review Conditioned Response theory by Pavlov.
- Discuss the Psychopryphylactic Method of Prepared Childbirth.
- Identify advantages of each method discussed.
- State Childbirth with Dignity's purpose.
- Develop an eclectic approach to prepared childbirth.
- Review the psychological, emotional, and physicial advantages of prepared childbirth.
- Review the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy.
- Discuss advantages of developing a birth plan.

Lamaze Plus is either a one time 8-hour class (including an hour break for lunch), or a two-time 3-hour per day experience. The cost starts at $200.
